I was expecting a vinyl or rubber tag, perhaps with a pocket in the back to slip a card into...but the tag is a glossy hard plastic. The symbol is very neatly printed (almost looks like it is under a layer of clear plastic. The back is a plain white, which you could easily write on with a permanent marker, paint pen, or just slap a label on it for further identification. If nothing else it would be cool on a LARP bag!
