“The King in Yellow,” is a hard to find and rarely performed play, which many people believe to be more cursed than Macbeth. It has been blamed for mental breakdowns, accidents, and even the outbreaks of global disasters. However, our team has been fortunate enough to obtain an original copy from a mysterious stranger, and have funded a performance. This is your opportunity for a once in a lifetime experience, where no one will leave the same.

We ask that you dress for a nice night at the theater and inform one of our staff if you have seen the yellow sign.

What to expect:

The King in Yellow LARP is an immersive horror experience with escape room style puzzles and an actual short play performed by NPC actors. Players will take on the roles of mortals drawn to the play for their own motives and attempt to survive the night with their minds intact. It is a cosmic horror LARP that takes “play to lose” to the next level. We really want to make it clear that this is not a game with a happy ending. Your characters will suffer and many will die. But you will experience a strange story determined by player choices and build moments together.

Each player will be given one of 40 premade characters. These characters will come with motivations and backstory to give each player a jumping off point to experience the events of the game. Not all characters will be innocent. Some hide terrible secrets and others may already serve the King. We would love to hear in advance about the kind of character you would like to play, so we can provide you with one that best suits that experience.

The results of challenges the characters face will be determined by simple stats and card draws, and each character will have access to special abilities that can alter the draw or unlock supernatural powers. Players will be able to opt out of character death, though we highly encourage the full experience.
